What is a Knit-Along (KAL)?
A KAL is short for knit-along. It's a group activity, where a group of knitters are working the same pattern at the same time. It is a great way to work on a pattern in community with the support of both the designer and other knitters. I'll be there to guide you every step of the way! 🤗
When are the live Zoom events?
I’m hosting 3 live events on Zoom!
🧶 Join me for a Cast-On Party on Saturday, May 6th at 7:00 p.m. eastern. Grab your yarn and needles, and we’ll get to know each other a bit. I’ll also answer any questions you have about the pattern.
🧶 Join me for the TWO LYS Love Knit Nights on Saturday, May 20th & June 10th at 7:00 p.m. eastern. We’ll chat about our projects, yarn, tips & tricks, and more. I love having an opportunity for us to connect. Feeling stuck? Let me help!
How much does the LYS Love Shawl Knit-Along cost?
The knit along events are free to attend. 🎉
You only need to have purchased yarn from a participating LYS to celebrate LYS Day and received a Ravelry code for the LYS Love Shawl pattern, or you'll need to have purchased the LYS Love Shawl pattern from me on Ravelry or Payhip, to knit with yarn from your stash.
The point is for everyone to join in the fun, feel welcomed into our community, and knit along together while learning to knit the LYS Love Shawl!
What if I need help in between our Zoom sessions?
There are video tutorials to help you through knitting your LYS Love Shawl that you can watch on-demand any time you want. I'll go through them with you during our Cast-On Party.

Will the Zoom sessions be recorded?
The LYS Love Shawl KAL Cast-On Party will be recorded and emailed to those who have signed up for the KAL emails (fill out the form above!).
The Knit Nights on Zoom will not be recorded so we can connect authentically, while spending some time getting to know one another.
When will the LYS Day pattern codes be active? When will they expire?
The Free Pattern Codes will be active from Friday, April 28th at 8:00 A.M. Eastern until Monday, May 1st at Midnight Eastern.
Make sure to enter the code from your LYS on Ravelry! Click “add to cart” and then “use a coupon code” before checking out.
If you are purchasing yarn online to be shipped to you, kindly ask to have your unique one-time use code sent via email, so you may download the pattern while waiting for your yarn to arrive.
Please make sure the code has been applied before checking out. There are no refunds.
Is the project difficult to knit? What skills and techniques are used?
• Long Tail Cast-On
• Stitches Used: knit, k2tog, purl, p2tog, (sl 1-k1-psso), (sl 1-k2tog-psso), sl 1 wyib, sl 1 wyif, ssp, and yarn over.
• Tutorial videos will be included for each of these stitches.
• Lifelines are always great to use when knitting lace, though this is not written into the pattern.
