I have taken 2 of Jessica's workshops. She is a wonderful teacher. She breaks down the process to understandable steps that are very easy to follow. Her style is very laid back, and I know I will enjoy any classes & workshops she is going to teach.

PREREQUISITES:
These workshops are created for advanced beginner or intermediate level knitters. You must be comfortable with knitting and purling and understand the basics of reading patterns.
FEBRUARY:
Colorful Connections: Fair Isle Fundamentals
We’ll tackle the essentials of working with multiple colors to create beautiful Fair Isle knitting, including yarn management techniques for smooth, tangle-free knitting across each row.
You’ll learn to read and interpret colorwork charts confidently, and I’ll share my favorite tips for maintaining even tension throughout your project.
And ... I'll take the fear of out steeking! If you aren't sure what that is, Wikipedia has a great explanation:
"In knitting, steeking is a shortcut used to knit garments such as sweaters in the round without interruption for openings or sleeves until the end. After completing a tube, a straight line is cut along the center of a column of stitches, in order to make room for an opening or place to attach another piece."
Whether you're new to Fair Isle or looking to refine your skills, this workshop will provide the foundation and insider tricks for beautifully balanced, vibrant colorful Knitting.
APRIL:
From Start to Finish: Flawless Cast-On & Bind-Offs
Create beautifully matched edges in your knitting projects. Learn essential techniques for cast-ons and bind-offs that will elevate your project’s look and durability.
I'll share the best times to use each of the methods too! Perfect for knitters looking to achieve polished, professional finishes from the first stitch to the last!
JULY:
The Art of Shawl Knitting: Where Style Meets Skill!
Embark on a creative journey to craft stunning shawls in a variety of shapes and stitch patterns!
This workshop is perfect for those who love versatile, elegant accessories and want to expand their shawl-making skills.

Oh hey,
I'm Jessica!
I'm a Knitwear Designer and Teacher who is passionate about helping fellow knitters explore new horizons.
Have you ever felt that spark of excitement when you finally master a tricky stitch? That's the magic I wanted to bottle up and share with others!
Planning this series of workshops has been a journey of heart and soul for me, and reflection on my own journey of learning to knit.
I remember those early days when I struggled with complex patterns and felt like giving up.
But then, something clicked ... and I realized that with a little support and encouragement, anyone can conquer those intimidating stitches.
Imagine watching someone who once hesitated to try complex techniques now confidently creating beautiful designs ... it's truly inspiring.
If you're ready to expand your knitting repertoire and boost your confidence—let's make 2025 your most creative one yet!
A new workshop will be held seasonally, in each quarter of 2025! I will be in touch with dates and times for each workshop when we get closer, including your log in details to join me on Zoom. Since we have not begun the workshops, there is no content available in your online classroom yet.
Each live Zoom workshop will be approximately 90 minutes - 2 hours. Replays will be edited to make them as clean and enjoyable to watch as possible and may vary in final length.
Once you purchase Knit Your Year, you keep access to all the presentations and lesson materials forever (aka as long as I'm alive and running my website).
If you are joining us through my Stitch Society Membership, you will have access to the workshops for as long as you are a currently paid up member.
Some knitting is experience is required as a prerequisite, such as knowing the basic stitches. If you can cast on, knit and purl, there is a lot to be learned through the presentations!
The best thing about knitting is there is always something new to learn - a fresh perspective, uncommon techniques, different ways of doing something ... and the joy of learning along side fellow like-minded knitters.
My goal is to keep everything as simple as possible.
Our live events take place on Zoom, and can be accessed from a mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.
Patterns or other resources are delivered as PDFs, and will be available in your online classroom. I will also email them to you.
There are no fancy apps or computer programs to purchase.
If you have any questions or feel lost, just reach out for help and I’ll walk you through it all.
Yarn and supplies are not included with Knit Your Year.
Depending on the workshop topic, you may need specific supplies. Supply lists will be available when I share the class dates with you, and I will include various price ranges whenever possible.
You are welcome to purchase your supplies from anywhere you'd like, but I may offer suggestions of where to purchase these supplies to make it simpler for you.
You are also welcome to use yarn or supplies you already have in your stash if it matches what I am using.
For example: We will likely cover steeking in the Fair Isle workshop (cutting your knitting after working in the round). You will need to be able to knit in the round using your either Double Pointed Needles, a Circular Needle with a Long Cord, or 2 Circular Needles. To be successful with the steeking part of the class, you will need to use 100% wool (non-superwash). You will also need either a felting needle to secure the yarn ends after making your cut.
Due to the digital nature of the product and that digital downloads will be provided, we are not able to offer refunds for any reason after the materials are shared for our first workshop in February.
Please look through all the details before you purchase and email hello@doublethestitches.com with any questions you have!
No problem! Send an email over to hello@doublethestitches.com and we'll get back to you within 1-2 business days.
